VPM employees organized and participated in a donation drive for The Doorways, a “home away from home” for those receiving medical care in Richmond and their caregivers. One of many nonprofits operating near the site of our new downtown headquarters, The Doorways has offered lodging and vital support services to families during difficult times for more than 40 years.
After collecting travel-sized toiletries during the month of December, employees assembled the items into toiletry kits during a festive celebration following the monthly all-staff meeting. The kits included shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and other essential personal care items that guests find useful during their stay at The Doorways.
The activity provided employees with an opportunity to learn more about the nonprofits making a difference in our region, foster connection to our new neighbors and neighborhood, and make a meaningful impact on the community.
More than 80 kits were assembled and donated to The Doorways, and VPM staff delivered the donations to the warm, welcoming facility just in time for the holidays.
